I really dont doubt your "expertise" Tony because it seems like when you say what something is other people jump in and say "yea what he said". Honestly. It might not be a "TRUE STEVE TYREE" coral but it is a nice piece i know that. It could be anything but a Confusa. Thats all im saying

And so are they on the Tyree Superman... what don't you get... he has the exact same Coral as I do... It is THE Tyree Superman, put it under actinic lighting only and tehy will be a vibrant red...soooo you still want to debate this with you lack of knowledge on the lineaged species...pfff
Oh yeah... the Confusa pics.... let's see which ones are and which ones are not...
Pic #
1.. possibly yes, but I can't tell directly from that frag
2. Spongodes.. not confusa
3. Confusa
4,5 and 6...Spongodes, not confusa

Frank not all the growth edge on mine has the blue groth either. That blue growth is only on the really thin new growth. Let me get a pic or two and post in here so you can see the difference.

thats not true about "everyone agreeing with him cause he's always right" and i dont buy aunt jemima frags.
tony is my best friend on this site and we both collect rare and exotics, esp. monties. ive been on 2 yr waiting lists for some. ive bought at least 2 "sunsets" that were not and i gave them away. we have each others corals. and i dont think confusa either.
i have gilbert grape, or as sold to me. but ive seen some that look different. i dont know what it is. ive seen peltiformis as gilbert grape. but peltiformis will plate and encrust and quickly. my gilbert grape just encrusts and slowwllllyyyy.

Yes Frank, these are the frags that I got from you in our trade. They are near the bottom of the 75 under the dual 150 watt metal halides with dual 96 watt PC actinics. If I want less polyp extension all I need to do is to move the rock a little higher in the tank.
On a happier note, that Superman chunk has already overgrown the rock it was on and has encrusted the main rock on 3 sides now. The Sunset is growing off the plug on one side, closest to the lights of course, and the Rainbow is making its way off the original frag as well. Not bad at all for 2 months.
Randy, I am going to create a special montipora just for you that I will call the covered, smothered, splattered, and topped monti.

Ok here's the pics... Confusa..
Tyree Superman... if you look to the lower right of the colony... you will see the blue in the new growth... finda hard, but that's due to the massive PE I get out of my Monti's
Tyree rainbow...
And that pic you posted of the rainbow... that is indeed rainbow, but from a very very low nutrient tank that is more than likely running something like the Zeovit line (you can tell by how "pastel" the coloration is, that the polyps almost look transparent)

I know where you can get the real things, and I am more than willing to share... I apologize if this thread came across as a bashing thread and that everybody seemed to jump on bag with me, but there was a reason. I have the Tyree SM, Tree Rainbow... wanting the Pokerstar, Sunset and Rev Sunset I also have the Tyree Idaho Grape (just cant easily verify the lineage) but it is a little browned out from a bleaching incident . I can do a frag of the three of them and hook you up... I'm not stingy, I just want you to know what the real deal is in the future...

i like to see my frags and how they look different in different tanks. look at the color of the rainbow just from tony to mikes.
i have true tyreee superman and rainbow. i also have fake rainbow.
i dont have pokerstar. i have a friend in georgis whom does and it looks like rainbow on the growth edges, but his is invasive imo. it spreads faster than he can sell or trade. the only one i have fraggable @ the moment is superman though.
id love to trade for something.

Teasing me ain't nice! It has to be an authentic "inside out aunt jemima waffle montipora" if you make one.

Is that why I can't find one?

Its alright Tony.. I just want the real thing also.. I checked out reeffarmers and they dont have a spot for the Rainbow until October 2010. If i could get a Real Tyree frag it would be awesome. I would love a piece of the Rainbow and Superman.. Ive been wanting a superman for about a year now ever since i saw one in my friends tank and like i said i dont just want to get one with the same colors i want the real thing. A Rainbow would also be really nice. How could we do this as South Carolina is 3 states away
