my fish have been out of my tank for qt for a little over two weeks. i am noticing that my sps is
lightening up quite a bit, and am afraid that another 6 weeks without fish will cause more lightening/malnutrition of the corals.
i am putting a tiny bit of rod's food in the tank every few days to feed the corals and other inverts, and am adding approx 1mil of pure ammonia every other day just to keep the denitrifying bacteria count up.
rod has a new "coral blend" food which doesn't have the veggies or large meaty pieces. i think i'm going to start melting some of that in tank water and basting it towards the corals. but is there anything else i can do to help get them the
nutrients they need? should i pick up some of the zeo coral food products/amino acids/etc? i would have to assume that my tank has been brought to zeo-esque nutrient levels with the minimal feeding, dsb, and pound of gfo that i use. no3 tests undetectible - have not tested po4 w/ the hanna meter recently.
thanks,
ben
