my latest fragging adventure

thought you guys might like to see my latest batch of frags ...

this all started with a trip to a LFS, that was having a moving sale. everything was 50% off (if you are a member of the LFC). needless to say ... I AM. i came home with 3 acropora colonies, an acropora frag, and a blue chin triggerfish (this was a few months ago and trigger is doing great in the sps dominated tank). i bought this baby blue staghorn colony for about $5 because of the damage to it. now that it has been fragged properly all pieces are doing GREAT and will be FS when they start encrusting onto the plugs. if anyone might be interested in buying a frag in the next few weeks ... give me a shout. ENJOY ...

notice the damage around the base of the colony. i think it may have been RT, so i fragged it accordingly.

all the frags, most of which are well over 1 1/2" tall

Look great. A little time and you will be able to fill up your tank. One thing I have learned is to use mounts that are smaller than the ones you are using. The acros I have fragged seemed to do better on a smaller base. They first spent all their energy encrusting the base and then would start to grown. So a smaller plug base got encrusted fasted.

HOWEVER, the greater the encrusted "solash" the more branches that will emerge therefrom.
