How much light are we talking here? Most SPS will acclimate to quite a high level of light, like I have seen 400W MH over 10g tanks.

That's not that much really, I had a 250W XM10K and 2 32W PC atinics over a 15.

When you think about it, there is no difference between that and the top shelf of a 180G with 3X250, and it's less light if that 180 was using 400W MH.

I would say stay away from monties, but other than that, acclimate to the light well and you should be good. If it does prove to be to much you could always raise the light to something like 8" off the surface to waste some light.

Start on the bottom with your new frag, preferably partly shadowed, then slowly move out into the light, then work it up the rockwork into it's final postion.

It may not be nessessary, but I do reccomend it for anyone getting a new SPS frag.

Just built my stand...Light is a good 5 inches away from surface so its not even that bad. ALso gonna have 48 watts of actinic PC and Possibly an Array of Blue LEDs Just for kicks. Only thing im worried about is heat and evaporation. Got 3 120mm Fans blowin Inward twords the bulb to hopefully keep it cool

You should only loose like half the water in your tank per day.
