Fill me in how breaking off one piece and dipping it will prove I have AEFW. Never had to deal with them. Will I see them falling off?

My first thought was territory, but the war always has resulted in the coral on the left loosing tissue and no problems with the one on the right.

What you would be looking for are the eggs, which look like little round balls or dots along the base of the coral or frag that you break off. You would also be looking for the flatworms themselves. They range in size from very small (few millimeters) to large (a couple of centimeters). They are kinda clear to milky translucent color, so it's easiest to see them if you use a blue or dark colored container to do the dip. I hope that's not what you have, but like I said, it's a serious enough problem that I would do something to find out ASAP.

That is kind of what I thought. I have looked very hard and see nothing. I did have a few about 2 years ago when I got my first acro or two. I treated the tank they were in and haven't seen any since. No signs of eggs or the AEFW day or night or after dipping several small acros. I think I may treat the tank with Prazi-Pro anyway.

My corals are all ticked! I did a large WC (about 1/3) and did it from the tank instead of the sump. Lots of coral exposed to the air for about 15 minutes. Had to be done in order to siphon part of the sand. I got around all the LR. After that I treated with Prazi-Pro as a preventative to the possible AEFW. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this takes care of it.

Yeesh! Hope they pull through. I've done that pretty often too, exposing corals to air, but I make sure to kill the lights first.

Not worried about the air or the light just want the problem in the pics to clear up.

Looks like the damage has stopped after the Prazi-Pro treatment. Now I may be dealing with a few lingering issues from the 9 hours with no power night before last. I had a little bit of tissue necrosis on a few acros. Most look like they will pull through though.

That's good that they're pulling through. What's prazi-pro?

I have been told that Prazi-Pro will kill Monti Eating Nudis by a trusted source. It is intended to treat disease caused by Flatworms, Nudis and such.
