got my 2 first acros!!!

well, I thought it was about time to get my first 2 acros. I am really not sure what kind they are becuase the guy at the LFS didnt know. I will get a pic tonight and post it but one is like 2" high and kinda thick with some purple in it.... the polyps didnt come out yet. The other one is about 3" and brown with blue polyps.
I have them in a 65g with an outer orbit light consisting of 2 dual actinics and a 150W 10k bulb.
my CA level is at 450 and alk always drops to 6 or 7. I only use seachem's reef builder. I do not have a sump and use a fluval. I am toying with the idea of getting a CPR overflow with a 20 or 30g sump.( whatever can fit under the tank) I use a coralife SS125 skimmer. i have 2 power heads for water circulation.
I keep my salt at 1.024 and temp at 80. I have about 90lbs of LR and about 1" to 2" of sand on the bottom.
My actinics are on between 3pm and 12am and the halide is on between 4pm to 11:30pm
I do a 20% water change every friday night and I use Tropic marin pro reef salt.
any advice would be great!!........

The main thing that I would recommend is that if you are not extremely dedicated (and only you can honestly determine that) about taking apart and cleaning your fluval, in the long run it is going to become a nutrient source, and ha you would be better off in the long run for sps coral health to instead go for a sump and overflow to allow for a larger water volume, a place for your heater, a place to stick your skimmer so you don't have to look at it, and a place to run things like carbon if you find you need to.

You didn't mention live rcok, maybe it is in another thread, but if you have an ample sulpply, then that is going to take care of your biological filtration just fine, making the fluval both redundant, and a potential hazard depending on your husbandry techniques.

hope that helped, let us know if you have any more specific questions.

Looking forward to seeing those new aquisitions!

Pics would be great, you need more flow and the sump is a great idea and trash the fluval when you get the sump.
