another interesting point made on another post was that apparently there are more than one type of flatworm that eats sps corals.

Hoang taught me this one a while back aefw- acropora eating flatworm (the arch nemesis of smooth skinned acros)

leopard/yellow coris/radiant/ hawaii 4 line- all great pest hunters.
Besides those the perfect reef sps fish IMHO is a red sea regal. Active-beautiful will nip but if your tank is established the damage should be negligible who knows it may even be beneficial for your critters.

haha. My red sea regal doesn't nip sps. 5-6", but it definitely eyes the sps and then I put some nori in. It demolishes any zoanthid though, but i was willing to give those up, probably worked out better for my sps in the long run anyway removing the zoas.

Majestic Angels are a little "reef safer" and a bit hardier as far as getting them to eat.

The only reason I ended up with a regal angel in a 75 was that a local reefer didn't realize what he was getting himself into and it had eaten most of his zoas, but nothing he had tried to feed it. I took it off his hands for a few nice frags, and it took a month to start eating.

Snappy........you say "mature" Y coris. Do all yellow coris get that cool striping on the tail and head when they get older??

I have two of them...one in each tank. neither has even a hint of that going on though. I hope they do.....its very striking

Personally, I wouldn't try a pygmy angel unless it was known to be reef safe (out of someone else's tank) it's too much of a PITA to get it out--I know, I've been there with an eibli angel.

I never noticed it before......but do the hints of the stripes on the face here mean this one is a male and it will come out with age??
