attaching acro frags?

I have a tiny, shipping broken frag of a random unidentified acro. Last night I glued it to a rock(usual super glue gel, works on zoas and rocks just fine) to try to glue it to a rock in the middle of my tank(high as I can get without it growing onto zoas or them crowding it in time) It fell off overnight. Is there a trick to it, or did I just not do it right for the first time ever? It stuck for a few hours.

If you can get a piece of rubble that is big enough that it wont be move by your tanks flow.

Dry off the spot on the rubble that you are going to glue the frag to. I actually like to take my dremel and make a little indention int he rock a little bigger than the base of the frag and then dry it off.

Put a healthy glob of super glue gel on the dry spot

Then dob off the base of the coral that is going to be glued.....i usually just lightly tap it on a towel.......or my shirt or pants.

Then stick the frag in the glue upright and let it sit on the counter for a few minutes.

then put it in tank...done.

All of these steps are not necessary as you get better at it. But follow those directions until you get the hang of it.

happy fragging

I take a nylon bristle brush and scrub the rubble before gluing. Makes it stick better.

Alrightey, minus the dremel I'll try that trick in a bit.

The thing that got me was that I was always good at glueing stuff while it was still underwater, but This frag just didn't want to work, lol.

I have used super glue and the two part putties you can purchase at Menards in the plumbing department. Dries gray and encrusts easily.
