Aquarium Additives

I was reading that it is good to dose with coralline amino acids and other things that our aquariums lack compared to a real reef. My question is does anybody dose their tanks with any of this stuff OR anything similar? Does it benefit the corals and wat not? Does it make the skeletons stronger? At the current moment i dont does ANYTHING in my tank except DT's magnesium once a week. I havent incurred that much bioload to be dosing with calcium and alkalinity yet i just do 20% water changes EVERY two weeks. I also dont dose with any of this other stuff cuz i am not knowledgable about any of these things. All the inhabitants in my tank are doing fine but i guess its always good to improve in some way. Any input?

Until you are what I term an "advanced expert" stick to keeping the ca, alk, mag within parameters and forget all the hoopla There is enough complexity to the hobby without adding HGH, Vit-c, and all the other hype until you reach a point where you have everything spot on and the only thing left is to mess with this stuff to get that extra oomph

What is the difference between C - Balance and Calcium. I have the 3 part DT solutions which are 1 - Calcium, 2 - Alkalintiy and 3 - Magnesium. I only dose the magnesium once a week but i used to dose the calcium and alkalinty before i got a test kit.. mistake.. i bought a test kit and my CA was 580ppm and my Alk was 12. Im gonna stick with the DTs cuz ive heard good stuff. My question was with the other additives like the amino acids and other stuff
