acropora/hair algae

I had quite a bit of green hair algae in my tank until recently. The most stubborn remaining patch is on the lower half of my acropora. I've tried pulling it off, but this seems to help the remainder grow!
Any ideas on how to get rid of it without hurting the coral?
Jim

more than likely you are going to have to frag the coral off to save it... just my experience
