40 watt on a 10 gal


i just started a 10 gal nano with 40 watt pc. i took all the sps out of my larger tank.(because they did not do good at all) are pc just not good for sps or will they be ok with 40 watts thanks.

That really is just not enough light for the m to thrive. It might keep them alive, but with color loss and a major slow-down in growth.

i think that it would be really close to having enough light. the 10g is only 10" deep so the light will not be loosing to much to water penetration.

i think that it is worth a try.

I would think that some Montipora could be kept okay under those light but don't expect the same coloration as it would have under halides

You wont get good color on them with that wattage.
