seeing i have a spare second i would like to take the opertunity to thank every one who has supported and responded to this thread. i am overwelmed with requests for the new thread site. im just glad this thread has a good home and now bill can post when he has a spare second.
right now the construction crew is trying to get the house bottoned up so they can work all winter long with out the weather becomming a problem. so the tank is kind of on hold for the moment. bill has not even had time to finish up the 4 large protien skimmers for this system yet. plastics ae the last thing on his mind. i do know some small details i will share for now about the tank.
bill plans to have the largest over flow you could imagine in the tank. it will be a channel overflow that runs the entire back side of the 22 ft long wall. i think the overflow box will be in the corner of the tank right above the sump. the entire overflow will be cut out of 1/2" thick pvc sheet material and plastic welded together and then glued into place. the cnc router will run for a while cutting that overflow out. ha ha ha bill is working on a special suction cup hanger so he can carfully set the 3" thick 6 ft x 10 ft sheets in place for the viewing pannles. there is not alot of equiptment available for rent to place sheets that thick and heavy. in about 2-3 weeks the tank should be cured enough to start applying the special epoxy coating the the inside of the tank. this will be done in 2 stages. first will be the front and the rebate areas. then the 2 viewing pannels will be set in place and let cure. then the rest of the tank will be coated with epoxy. then it will be time to get the rest of the equiptment in place and start the long plumbing process. while the plumbing is being done it will give the epoxy time to cure.
this is aproxmately how the tank will be put together in the next 2-3 months. it may vary a little. but its close to what i remember bill saying.

Spazz - dumb question time. The epoxy that is being applied to the whole inside of the tank, is that as an extra seal for leaks? Or is it to keep the water from touching the cement?

salt can make concrete pit and crumble. look at a sidwalk that has been salted every winter. it has pits and cracks in it. the epoxy seals the concrete from long term exposure to the chemical attacks from the salt.

Concrete is actually porous too and can absorbe and leak water if it isn't sealed.
