Salty Supply's 210 Gallon Reef Tank!

So im in the planning stages of my new tank...As of yet I think im going with a 210 AGA. This may change as I would like to go bigger, it is going in my house so it is space limited. Im kinda debating this because I really want 36" depth

Equipment is as followed so far.

2 Vortech Wireless Propeller Pumps
1 Tunze 6100(recycled from my current tank)
1 Reeflo Snapper for Return
1 Aquacontroller 3
2 Jager Heaters
1 AquaLogic 1/4hp Chiller
1 Korallin 3002 calcium reactor(not going to use this till my tank is really full with coral)
2 Phosban Reactors(1 carbon, 1 rowa)
1 Tunze Osmolator for topoff
3x400 Watt Metal Halides with Lumenarc Relfectors, Hamilton 14k Bulbs
Actinic Supplement Lighting(not sure about this yet, any recommendations)
1 AquaC EV 240 or Precision Marine bullet 3
200lbs Marshall Island Live Rock(100lbs base fiji rock)
48" PM Sump
Custom Cherry Stand and Canopy

So far this is my list of equipment

I know they are priced out of most budgets but wouldn't an LED system be better for such a deep 36" tank?

I wish I could get one for my 200 and it is only 24" deep

OK how many gallons will your sump be?
I would say go with a bigger skimmer than an ev240
thats what i use on my 150g
even though its rated for 250gallons i would get one rated over your tank.

So after some debate I decided to build my own custom stand to make a false inwall setup...there is a door behind the tank that dosent get used so im turning it into a fish room...

My question is after I finished the supports...the back portion of the stand isnt level it kinda leans back a little....how can I go about fixing this or should I start all over?

I was thinking cutton some wood to shim underneath it and adding some more supports.

I did a quick mockup of how the aclove will look when Im done...Im basically going for a false inwall look...with a bar on the front...there is some space on the rigth side of the tank and wall where I am installing a wine/bottle rack.

If it were me I think I would start over with the stand,.. these things are so important to have level, and the 2*4's are the cheapest part of a stand build,..

Sounds like a very cool tank! I definitally agree on a bigger skimmer

Yep, it really can. Ask Hop about some of his experiences. I've recently added a fan to the inside of my stand to blow hot air out, as it was getting quite humid and I have a feeling that some mildew was growing under my sump (well, not so much a feeling as I saw it and had to clean it out when I recently swapped sumps).

In terms of stand support... it's really critical to make sure everything is flat. If the tank doesnt have even support, it's a disaster waiting to happen. I've never really thought that a level stand is the priority, but making it level is probably the easiest way to measure and ensure that it's flat, so sometimes that's just the best way to go about it.

Whiskey
I agree with Whiskey. 2x4's a practically free compared to the overall cost of the build. If the stand isn't flat and level, you will put side loads on the seams which could potentially lead to failure or leaks. It's one thing to shim a leg if the floor has a low spot, but if the whole stand is out of whack, I'd try again.
Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to downsize to 180?

Good luck.

forgot to mention....I was testing the level outside but when I brought it inside it looks way better, the ground outside must have been messing with me...the bubble is only slightly off which I think I can use a shim for.
