Questions about Bills Tank

I don't want to take any time from his thread but I got a question that maybe someone else can answer. Won't the copper pipes cause problems? I was under the impression copper wasn't good for a reef tank.

The copper pipes should be fine. Trace amounts and the copper won't really leach from the pipes anyway. Pipes carrying the water to your RO/DI is the same thing.

those pipes wont have salt water in them. he will be using a titanium heat exchanger to exchange the heat to the tank water. the copper will not come in contact with anything that the fish swim in. when you look at his pics you can see one that has the titanium heat exchanger on the wall. its custom built by bill to handle that size tank.

Thanks, I thought even minor amounts of copper were harmful....and I guess that the build is so big I wasn't really seeing that it all going to the RO/DI--it surely is awesome!

I wondered what that was... Thanks for filling in the blank for us. My initial thought upon seeing the first pic of the heat exchanger (on the table, first series of pictures in the ReefZilla thread) was... "Warp drive assembly?"
