New to site and new setup.

I have had a 180 gallon tank for a long time it was fresh water. I used it to house for pacu;s that out grow my 70 gallon show tank as the years went on I put cichlids in the tank and I started out with 10 fish that grow in to 200 fish they just would not stop breeding in the tank they loved it. I moved and moved and so did my mom at the time and I setup the tank at my moms then she wanted to redo the floor and so I took the tank down and put it in her garage I have since moved into the house she was living in so it was time to setup the tank agean I have had a 18 gallon reef tank for sometime at my apt and fish have been doing well but then my reef started dieing. I talked with my lfs and found that they forgot to tell me that I needed to change out the light every 8-12 mos. Thanks for nothing all was lost not very happy about that but now I know. So when I want to put reef stuff back in there I will not let the lights die out . We anyways because I have had good luck with fish and I have this big tank I wanted to setup a salt water tank. I have had it running for about 90 days its got a good cycle in. I used live sand and a full sized panther grouper. I have a clean up crew in the tank from my dad’s tank that he did not take with him. One thing did not make it was a shrimp guess the panther grouper had a nice dinner oh well not very found of shrimps anyways. I have added a few fish to the fish tank already yellow tang, koran angel, and a naso tang. I started out with little fish as they cost alot. I am reading that full grown angels don’t far well with others so I will just let him be him and he will grow with the other fish. I aim to own a shark bamboo cat. I know that they grow large. I have ties where I can pass him on if he ever out grows the tank or needs a bigger home. I also plan on getting a 500 gallon some day down the road. I have been told not to add any rocks to the fish tank due to the shark is this true. I need some input I dont want to keep the tank bare. Right now its just tank few fish and sand I will take pictures later and add them.

not sure the 2 tangs will fare so well in this size tank as, IMO, it's too small for them. Most angel fishes tend to not be so reef safe so be careful with the koran

the naso tang maybe but the yellow tang should be fine they dont get so big. You sure you read the post in full its a 180 gallon tank. This tank is only going to be fish no reef.

even a 180 is a bit tight for a naso spp. Naso spp. are long range grazers, so even 6' is tiny.

i am not saying don't do it. i just want you to realize that SW fish have much larger volume requirements than FW fish. SW fish are used to much larger swim areas than FW fish.

Did I read you right....a full sized Panther Grouper? That fish grows to about 20" and the recommended tank size is 300G.
