Here's the air intake modification I did for my skimmer. It cuts down on sound and keeps the skimmer from freaking out from ambient aromas...
I had to resort to more duct tape here. The injector chamber was leaking air and wasn't working consistently until I wrapped it with tape...
The "muffler"
It's made from 3" PVC with a shower drain grate
Some filter floss (and carbon behind that) filters the sound and smells..

Very nice muffler, I made something simaler and it really makes a difference. Now I can cook breakfast without any effect on the skimmer, plus it is amasing how much junk the floss pulls out, better there than in the tank.

Here's the plumbing to the chiller and back again...
Up through the roof
Back down from the roof
Into the tank

The chiller is T'd off of the same closed loop as the UV / eductors.
I built my own chiller about a year ago for another system and decided to use it on this tank instead. It works quite well and was a heck of a lot cheaper than a commercial one. I'll probably convert this one to use a titanium coil eventually...
Here's the page that details that project: DIY Chiller
