Here's the air intake modification I did for my skimmer. It cuts down on sound and keeps the skimmer from freaking out from ambient aromas...

I had to resort to more duct tape here. The injector chamber was leaking air and wasn't working consistently until I wrapped it with tape...


The "muffler"


It's made from 3" PVC with a shower drain grate


Some filter floss (and carbon behind that) filters the sound and smells..

Very nice muffler, I made something simaler and it really makes a difference. Now I can cook breakfast without any effect on the skimmer, plus it is amasing how much junk the floss pulls out, better there than in the tank.

Geoff, I have been using ARM in my reactor. Out now and need to refill, A.R.M. cost alot, Can I use just aragonite. Cheaper and we have it in stock all the time.

The chiller is T'd off of the same closed loop as the UV / eductors.

I built my own chiller about a year ago for another system and decided to use it on this tank instead. It works quite well and was a heck of a lot cheaper than a commercial one. I'll probably convert this one to use a titanium coil eventually...
