Here's some shots of the eductors from the opposite end of the tank. They look like they are more obvious then they are in reality, you don't really notice them when you're focused on the tank.

And here's one from the back.

Here's the "hook".

The check valve is upsized to 1.5" to reduce flow restrictions.

This is really cool way to show a tank.

Here's the new skimmer plumbing:

The intake for the hook.

I stole this hook off a taller sump, that's why it's so tall. It doesn't really matter though, since the siphon effect cancels out any head pressure.

Skimmer pump

The flex PVC arcing along the bottom is coming from the pump on the left to the skimmer on the right

he duct tape is so I don't have to glue the pipes. I really do hate permanent installations that much.

Back into the sump. I actually need to make this pipe longer so I don't need the filter sock. Without the sock, I end up with bubbles making it back into the tank.

I built one of these the other day when I hooked up my skimmer

http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...&postcount=113

It saved my arse already, while I was breaking my skimmer in I fell asleep and the skimmer started to go nuts (that is why I was watching it, I knew it would) and when I woke up 7 hours later the flapper was closed, and the skimmer was shut down.

Thanks for the idea,
Whiskey

Wow, thats pretty awesome! Are you seeing a lot of settlling in the sump? If you don't mind my asking, about how fast do you believe the water is traveling through the sump? Love your skim catcher, hopefully a DIY project?! Tank looks great, clean and clear, hell, I even like the way you have the moving videos!

I really love the simplicity of your filtering system. It appears other than the sump sock, there really is no place for water to pick up any contaminants, and I would imagine the sump sock really isn't that dirty being that the water is coming from the skimmer. Is this correct? Really looks clean and clear!
