What a great thread!! (that was...until Robert and Casey got here! hahahahahaha)
Greg...VERY inspiring and I like the detail.
You are saving me some headaches.
Liked the tid-bit on not thinking about the framing's viewability, and the collection cup DIY was AWESOME. Any MORE tips/tricks/DIY details/etc you got?
Gorgeous tank...just gorgeous!

Greg, what kind (if any) of issues have you run into with anything in the aet up? Any changes since the initial build? Full tank shot?

Honestly I haven't had any problems at all. I barely touch the tank anymore, which is a good and a bad thing...

I like the open look too, especially for viewing fish. My wife likes this tank too, even though it controls our entire living room.

Here's an animated gif I put together at this point in my photo documentation. The color isn't great, but it shows the tank better 3 dimensionally than a still.

Here are my standpipes. They run nearly silent this way with nothing but street el's.
And for something completely different, here I am hand feeding my blood shrimp.

also...lookin' for a better answer on this. You say a couple higher...so if you had to do it all over again...what....24" high?
(currently having this debate between 24" and 30" height. I want 30", but sounds like maintenance will be a PIA)

Yeah, I might think about 24" if I did it over again. Personally, if I had to maintain it, I'd never own a 30" tank.
