Multiple Phosban Reactors?

Can someone tell me how you are removing phosphates from your large systems? Are you joining multiple 150 phosban reactors or using something larger? If you join up multiple reactors, how do you determine the gph to run through them? Better yet, does anyone know of anyplace that makes large reactors....and yet another question....if you have a large system and use multiple reactors for the circulating water, eventually you wouldn't need multiple reactors (being that the phosphate drops) can you then use the extra reactors for something else, ie. carbon?
Then there are the fluids that I see out on the market, ie. Phosbuster, etc. do you use this instead? I know its probably a personal preference, but need help in determining which is the best way to go......

Viv, I can't help much but I know you can run carbon in those reactors, adn I do have some friends hat connect them on larger systems - one has a 180 with 2 running phosban and a 3rd running carbon - i think he runs it with an mj1200.

I have one on my 29( pony tank) and I run it with an mj 400 dialed down.

I have 2 reactors-one holds phosphate remover and the other carbon.
I run 2 pumps because I run the carbon all the way open & phosphae 1/2 way open!

I haven't looked into them personally as I just bought two 150 reactors. I believe that Geo makes a larger reactor that some people are using on larger systems. I haven't seen one but the rest of his stuff is top notch so i'm sure these are no different.

Geo and Deltec make large reactors... Although I'm only running a 2LF 150 on my 300 gallon system and it seems to be enough changing the media every two weeks.

Well, there truly is quite a difference in price! The larger reactors run into the hundreds, while multiple 150's probably can get for under a hundred. Neither includes a pump of course....so, if I'm circulating about 500gals, do I just buy multiples and run them individually (4 would be needed I would think if each one is stated for use on 150gal) or can you go with fewer and just add more of the media of choice?

For starters I dont rely on media to remove phsophate for me. I rely on water changes, skimming, and good rock (which I cooked for about 9 months). So, can't help you there, but I do use one of those reactors for carbon. I need to change it, to be honest. One thing to keep in mind is that you don't want as much flow through carbon as through phosphate media, so make sure you keep pumps in mind if that's what you're planning in the future.

ok, realize I gotta get the pumps to run it, just trying to figure the best way to do it...do I have to get 4, that would work for 600 gal. I'm only circulating 500g. Do you just put less media in one of them or is it a kinda thing where you just keep measuring your phosphate to figure if you need more or less media? Can you add media more than what is recommended? Or will it not work that way? Deltec's 616 runs close to 800 bucks, knowing nothing about this I'm just not sure if it's worth spending that kind of money...especially since the phosban reactors run about 50 bucks...$200 compared to $800, I think I'm missing something.....even a Ca. reactor not hooked up with the c02 would be cheaper....runs under the same principle, no?

I get mine from Bulk Reef Supply, you'll get a discount if your club is registered there. The carry several grades of product and also sell simple reactors. Good People fairly fast shipping and very reasonable price with discounts for volume.
