Where's the best place to have a chiller serviced?

My chiller needs to be looked at and recharged. It doesn't cool the tank at all. Where's the best place to take it? I know there's a lot of HVAC shops out there and I'm curious as to who does the best job.

You can check with PacificCoastimports www.pacificcoastimports.com I know they work on their own chillers but they might be able to recharge some other brands for a price.. They are out of Woodburn.. Wouldnt hurt to ask them.. Other than that I would check with just about any auto shop or Hvac shop.... Do you know if it uses the Newer R-134, R-22 or the old R-12 (Freon) If its R-134 you can buy the kit from an Auto parts store for about 30.00 with all the coolant.. What brand chiller is it??

Is the refrigerant environmentally friendly?

- The current refrigerant we use is R-134a and is CFC free and is environmentally friendly. Older units used R-12 refrigerant.

Depending on the age of the unit Me personally I would just go to the Auto parts store and get some R134 and DIY LOL..

Here is some info if you want to call them as well..

Find out if your unit does indeed use the old R-12 or R-134a. There is a difference in the refrigerant and you can damange the unit with R-134a if your unit uses R-12. That's why when the EPA requires car manufacturers to go with R-134a and not use R-12, many cars had to either get a convertion kit for older cars or go without A/C. The chemical are different.

Here's a link on someone's write up on converting his cars A/C from R-12 to R-134a
