What Calcium additive to use?


I should be getting getting some corals this week is why im wondering about this. I dont have a Calcium reactor yet and am wondering what i should start using for corals. Is there a specific kind of calcium to use? Brand? Later Ryan

I would recommend dripping kalkwasser, or using a 2 part supplement like Kent CB A&B.

If your just starting corals chances are your regular water changes should provide ample calcium.

Since your just starting I suggest your first purchase should be a good calcium and alkalinity test kit .. both Seachem and Salifert make good test kits. Heres a link that has a number of good articles concerning water chemistry ... suggest you read the articles concerning PH, calcium, and alkalinity ... once you understand that relationship reef water chemistry is pretty simple.
