Don't waste Your time.I was there a week ago and promptly walked right back out. All their inventory was either dead or dying. That shop has gone down hill so fast I don't know what happened, but I'm done wasting my time in there. They never should have moved from the old location.I would recommend Upscales, Soutas, Seahorse, or advanced in Salem. You'll be much happier visiting those stores, and they all have great selections.JMO

Thanks for the advice, and sorry to hear things went bad for Sean.
I know they were planning on moving last time I was in there, sorry to hear they have gone South. Their prices were always a bit high, but the qulaity was always quite good.
Yup, the rest are good, ill go see woody this weekend. What about hollywood since they moved?

Sorry to see that you had a bad experience with Waves. I have received great help and advice from both Sean and Sam at Waves. They are currently low on corals but from what I understand they are putting an order together. I have purchased fish and coral from them, their prices have always been in line with other shop. I have never had a problem with anything I have purchased from them. It is definately worth stopping. Just take the Carmen Drive exit off 5, if traveling south make a right at the top of the exit ramp. Then take the left at the first light into the Oregon Business Park, it is in the far back corner. Here is their number, 503-968-3200. You can call for better directions.
The other shops listed are above ae great, however I recommend stopping at Waves and see what you think about the shop for yourself.

Careful there, Breef... they are a sponsor, and we try to mind that attitude towards our club supporters in the LFS arena. I've made this mistake in the past... just trying to watch our P's and Q's.
Upscales is highly recommended, however, once you get past Bob. Just ask for Travis, Bob knows nothing.
(Bob comment requested, per Travis yesterday... and you thought I could not slip that in somewhere, Travis...and for irony's sake)

Maybe Waves will see the post and make some needed changes. I think feedback and a second chance in the future could be in order.

To make things clear, if my paycheck depended on PNWMAS, I'd be homeless. We are sponsors because I am a member, and I don't ever recall doing anything that deserves that kind of response sir. (Q)ueef Encounter, Come show me the dead/dying stuff, and I'll fix it. Thanks Jim and Seth, you get a gold star, and a hug. Oh, and I got livestock in TODAY!
The reason for the lack of new inventory lately is that we are in the process of changing owners, and why would Shaun put money into the store if he's selling it? The new owner who is remaining anonymous is puting $15-20 thousand into dry goods alone, and seriously beefing up the livestock. This should all start in about 2 weeks.

I'm suprised with his experience as well. I was at waves a few months ago and was very impressed with the livestock and the store as a whole. Everything looked to be cared for very well and the frag selection was just amazing compared to what we have down here. I will be going back for sure.

Sorry for saying what I did, but I hate hearing people talk ish!
SPS frags are something I don't have right now, just so you know Impur. I think that is what B reef was referring to. That prop tank fluctuated(sp) 15 degrees in one day, and messed everything up. On one of our really HOT days we had recently. I pulled 70% of the frags and colonies... Sad huh? Since then, I pulled everything else out, put them in other tanks, and did a 100% water change over the course of a week, turned the tank into a bare bottom, got an ETSS on line, got the reactor back in line, and should be restocking soon.
Things happen in this hobby, whether its a store or a home tank. I wish people wouldn't jump to such drastic conclusions over an issue that 75% of us have dealt with. Its not the end of the world, just means I get to buy a bunch of colonies, and make frags. Sounds fun.

I would say more like 90 percent of us have gone through some sort of meltdown. Maybe you guys will have a "under new management" sale or something really cool like that, huh
