I agree. I only get a chance to visit portland once a month. Waves is always at the top of my list. Shaun and Sam are very helpful, with great advice. I would recommend them to anyone. Sorry about the meltdown, and glad to hear that the shop is doing well.

YA THAT COMMENT WAS WACK! Never had a problem at Waves, and you get way better customer service then you would in most stores.

I love you guys. Dennis, your rock is FULLY cured. Tested the water today, and were flatline across the board. It'll be waiting for you when you need it! BTW, I did bring in a few more boxes on Tonga rock, so if you change your mind about needing a few chunks, its here for you.

Well......stopped by today right as they opened and the store looked pretty fit. Not as big as their old location, but a nice setup none the less. I am sure that once they get the livestock situation squared away and frag tanks full, etc. that it will be up to snuff if not better than a lot of the other stores in the area. I know I'll be paying them a visit again soon.
I also went by Hollywood as they are in the neighborhood, and the fish selection was quite good and the selection of tanks and furniture was great. However, the staff still seems to be lacking a bit from the standpoint of saltwater-reef knowledge and as far as any corals or inverts the slection was basically nil.

Just because They're a sponsor doesn't mean we can't post an opinion.Negative or not.Sam and Sean are big boys and can take some critisizm.Besides, now Sam's explained what's going on at the store.Positive outcome.
Sorry if I offended you Sam and Sean.I posted out of frustration more than anything. A friend and I stopped by and the person working couldn't be bothered to help us.( I won't say who it is.)They just hung out in the lobby with a couple of their friends.Between that and the state of the store, I thought you guys were going out of business.I spend alot of money on this hobby and have always supported Your shop in the past. When You get your new stock, I'll be back.
Thanks for clarifying the reason behind the disaray.

It's in L.O. near where Waves used to be.
Strangely, I am somewhat responsible for that... I was going there for a brief period and at the same time noticed they had this huge cube tank setup. I asked them what it was for, as nothing was there. It's their shark tank and needs a new shark. I told them of a 3+ foot Bamboo that was aquarium raised. They contacted the guy from Craigslist and now keep him there with an Epallette and Port Jackson (horned) shark. Some Chromis. It's the largest shark you'll see this side of Newport.
Sometimes you see shark in crazy places. If anyone was in nightclub downtown that was hot a while ago, H2O, had a Smoothhound there. Imagine being this really sophosticated sensory-equipment Smoothhound and being exposed to really hard music and lots of electricity. Then there was a shooting there... Anyway...

I know I'm late to the party, but I gotta say Waves is a great store. It's like going to your friend's house to buy fish. Sam is always friendly and totally knowledgeable about anything in the store and most everything outside of it. And they can find out the rest. Got a sweet replacement piece of this green with purple polyp danae. No pics till it colors up, but if it follows the last piece I had (fell into the frogspawn. No chance with this one) it will be almost as green as my GSPs.
Speaking of the frogspawn, the clowns love the food. Thanks again, Sam (and Elmo).
She still won't let him hang out in the frogspawn, but they've started swimming around together, and they're more black. Yay!
They try to feed the frogspawn and the hammer coral, and do a little juggling act trying to get things to stick to them. Funny as hell.
