Thinking of breaking down tank...

I am moving...it's only from Eugene to Springfield but it could be only 10 feet and the results would be the same....

I am thinking about breaking down my tank for a few months until things settle down business-wise, but I am not totally sold on the idea...

Soooo.....I am going to list a few items here and see what kind of reaction I get and that will help decide what to do. If I can get a decent sale price for some of these items, I will do it...if not, I guess I will have to drop the coin and buy a temporary tank to help with the move....

Here are my (1 year old) tank specs:

135 Oceanic (not RR)
150 Lbs Figi LR
2) 1" SeaSwirls (6 months)
Koralin 1502 Calcium Reactor w/10lb tank/solenoid (6 month)
AquaController II Deluxe (pH, ORP, Temp) w/ latest software (6 month)
Vario Dosing Pump
3) Iwasaki 250 MH bulbs, Spider Reflectors, IceCap ballasts (unused)
2 Iwasaki 250 MH bulbs,Spider Reflectors and HelloLights generic ballasts (used 9 months)
1 Icecap 660 VHO ballast (3 months)
1 PFO VHO ballast (never used)
1 PFO VHO ballast (6 months)
GEN-X PCX100 pump(never used)
Gen-X PCX80 pump (5 months)
Velocity T-4 pump (9 months)
EuroReef CS8-2 Skimmer (9 months)
4 URI VHO Actinic 36" (never used)
4 URI VHO Actinic 36" (3 months)
Kent Marine Hi-S 35GPD 5-stage RO/DI (9 months)

Livestock:

Small Yellow Tang
Marine Comet
2) Mated Pair False Percula
2) Purple Firefish
2) Split-tail Goby
1) 6-line Wrasse
1) Shrimp Goby

Clams:

Large Derasa
2) Medium Crocea
Small Maxima

Corals:

Red Flowerpot (rare)
Purple-tipped Elegance
All the usuals like hammers, bubles, orange/pink ricordia, zoos, frogspawn, fox, meats etc...

I am realistic in knowing that I will not even come close to recouping my costs on this tank, but with the above listed items, I am curious to see how bad it will actually be. One of my LFS has offered to hold/help me in the move (they want to upgrade my tank so there is suspect motives going on) but I am leaning more towards selling most of the live stuff, and shelving the hardware until I can get time to rebuild my tank after the move...

Here is a previous post with pics of the tank:
My Tank

Any thoughts?

Wow! You definitly didnt scrimp on any of the equipment! All top of the line!

I think you should drop the change for a temporary tank. Whats the costs compared to how much you've already spent. I think 1/2 price of mail-order is the absolute BEST you can hope for if you do decide to sell. JMO!

when is the move planned? i spent my tank budget for a bit, but i would definately be interested in some of your livestock if it is going to be a bit before the move. i would be interested in your firefish, split tail, and your clams.

wish i had seen this post a couple weeks ago... lots of stuff here i would have worked into the budget, such as the seaswirls and some of your pumps.

I don't think he is going to break the tank down. I have sent him quite a few PM looking into the rock and some other things and I have had no response in all of my attempts.

Just thought I would mention that

I am NOT interested in piecing this system out....

I am still entertaining the offers so far, and will likely not sell the tank unless a better offer is presented before Friday (electrician is coming to install the new circuits for the tank then. If that happens, I am keeping it).

Thanks to all who have inquired....

Dave

P.S. If there are any SERIOUS offers for the entire setup, please PM me before Thursday night....
