Skimmer Repair

I have what I believe to be an ASM skimmer. I think it is a G3 that has some modifications done to it. There is a second whole drilled (currently plugged) for a second pump. And the collection cup looks like it was cut down 3 inches. Probably to fit under the stand. It has a sedra pump with a venturi. The base has a crack and it leaks around the where the acrylic meets the base. I don't think it is a big deal since it is in sump skimmer, but I would like to try to repair it while I have it dry and clean. I purchased a product E6000 from TAP. Is that what I should use or is there something else that would be better. I was going to rough up the surface before I glued.

Not sure what E6000 is, I have used the Weldon16 and 4 and it works good. I would clamp the 2 peices together as tight as possiblem and then use a thicker glue like the Weldon 16.

Actually since there is no pressure to the water going through the skimmer you could just as easy use silicone, to seal along the crack.

I miss typed... the tube i believe is made of extruded pvc not acrylic and the base feels like it is plastic. I am not sure if weldon would work.

This is the glue I bought.

Weld on 16 works on PVC and acrylic so yes it would work. I use it to bond my PVC pipe to an acrylic bottom on my skimmer that I made.
