Ok, I may have figured this out yea my brain IS able to learn haha trying to understand plumbing is making me crazy...

Anyway, I resized the picture.. I surely can't compete with all of your big tanks but I think my little 29 gallon ocean is cool.. don't look at the green back, it's the hard stuff and I just leave it, also all the stuff on the sandbed is stuff I am waiting to place once I get the 80 going.... probably be there a while , huh??
Some of you may recognize some of your things cuz so many of you have been helpful and more than generous to an old woman noobie like me...

Lets see if it works now...

It really has opened up a lot down the middle - I think it's time for a bigger tank heh heh.

But seriously, how is your flow behing the rocks? Just thinking about it, unfortunatly could be your big dead sopt and acculimating junk or it being trapped there. Just an idea.

His tank is immaculate.

Thanks Charles! The flow behind the rocks is NOW good. I have a return aimed down on the left side, providing good movement behind the rocks on that side and a Rio620 moving water behind the rocks on the right side.

I also recently replaced all my plumbing since it was kind of "caked" with calcium build up. From my Iwaki md40rlt, I was getting just a trickle out of my returns. Thank God it was the rlt version of the pump. Anyways, I replaced and/or cleaned out all my plumbing and am now getting much better flow.

Here's a pic of the inside of the return plumbing to show just how bad it was. Dang kalkwasser!!
