Semi OT Fly fishing

anyone on the board fly fish? i need someone to show me around a bit, especially when it comes to stelhead. im a good fisherman, just don't know the area. it wouldn't be babysitting by any means. when it comes to technique and tactics, im sure i could teach just about anyone a few tricks, i just don't know the waters and don't know much at all about stelheading. theres gotta be one of you here that flyfishes... lets hook up one of these weekends and wet a line. ive gone out with a few non flyfishers with very little success so please flyfishing only.

Hey Matt, I flyfish and there are some awesome steelhead streams very close to us here. My personal favorite is the Alsea river, it is south of us around the Corvallis area. I've only been doing this (flyfishing) for a couple of years. I do know a lot of really good fishing streams in Oregon, I've grown up fishing the whole state. If you want to know some of the best streams, get in touch and I have many maps and books on how to get there and the best equipment and patterns to use.

hey matt,

Good to see i'm not the only fly fisher that lurks these corners of the web.
I do a lot of fly fishing, but mostly in SW washington. Flyfishing for steelhead is much different than matching the hatch for trout. I can give you advice over PM, if you like, about what 'flies' to use, where to go, when to go, etc.
But to be honest, go to www.ifish.net. a VERY good discussion forum for fishermen in this area.
