So Jay (Chief) had a bit of an issue of applying too much weight/pressure to our overflow and managed to break it. We managed to salvage it for a short amount of time with zip ties until one evening our actinics started strobing like we were at Studio 51 in its heyday. Our overflow decided to dump water and some of it managed to connect with the PC actinic ballast. Luckily no equipment was harmed. Oh, and Jay and I still have straight hair.
Anyhow, being a descendent of a long line of jerry riggers I came up with the what I thought was brilliant idea of using rulers to glue onto the broken bits. What was a great thought didn't work... possibly because our house has the humidity of a tropical rainforest what with having fans blow across the surface of the water to combat the temp rising from the halides. Maybe the next workshop we can do a DIY dehumidifier?
So, I thought I would post a pic of Jay's pride and joy. I'll probably end up sleeping out in the garage with the dog... but hey, I figured it might amuse someone.
Oh, yeah... and while Jay was doing this he took a chunk of his knuckle off with one of the fans.
So that's my story. And we are going to get another overflow. Course maybe I should just convince Jay that we need a
reef ready tank... go from 72 bow to say 180 or so? Mr. Frogspawn would love to be able to stretch his legs more and not sting the crap out of everything he touches. Er, maybe he likes that.
Feel free to heckle!
Toodles!
