"purple" with blue polyp cap for sale

i have what people have been calling a purple with blue polyp monti cap for sale. I bought it from JR sight unseen and it didnt turn out to be what I expected. All I hope to do is recover what I paid for it, or a little less and just hang onto a frag.

Start your bidding, please PM me with offers if anyone has any interest in this piece. it measures out at about 8 inches by 4.5.

There are a few parts that are stressed since I havnt been able to find a good place for it in my tank, the one edge turned a bit white due to a giant shroom. Id be happy to hang onto it until these were gone before sale if necissary.

as i recall this cap is supposed to be green with a purple edge on it and blue polyps... my piece of this stuff doesnt look as brown as this one does.. very green but still developing the purple edge back from when i moved...hope that helps to those that are interested in buying... James this is the stuff that i have from JR (the other one) that you said you wanted a piece of.

It does have a purple rim as you can see, on some parts, but being in a bag, as well as being placed in my tank etc has irritated the outside edge.

I am still really not happy with the XM 10K lighting, I bet it would look much better under different bulbs. The XM's seem to wash out all the colors in my tank, making everything look yellowy brown.

We've had the same results with this lamp. Even in some instances, 2 brand new lamps, on same ballast, produced noticably different light color.

Stick with the german lamps.

Shaun, I believe that cap originated from you. If I trace it correctly, it may have come from me to JR via Jon "Chewie", which then came from you when you had it back then.

The XM 10K bulbs can TOTALLY produce different colors.. even on the same ballast.. Jeremey(alkee42) and I just bought 400w bulbs yesterday. We both have 400w advanced ballasts.. although mine has the "hydrofarm" caseing.... and his is BLUE.. mine is yech Yellow...

I hate it... how much color shift can I expect?

since I got the email Ill responde JR, Im unhappy with the color, its really not anything like I expected. It may have been green under your lighting, but its just brown undermine. It may still actually BE green, under some lights.

I pretty much feel like its not worth half of what I paid, so Im going to trade it for something I like, and hope it colors up for the other party.
