Posting Pictures

Anyone have any advice on how to post pictures here? The standard size for my digital camera is too large (2000 x 1000 or so) and the website only wants to allow 1000 x 750 or so.

I am trying to post pictures of my sump area to get some expert input on how to incorporate a refugium. Also, I want to post some pictures of trade bait for the next meeting, i've got some great corals that are thriving and that somebody might be interested in.

If you have Windows XP go to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

and download the image resize tool and then install it.

Once you do that download the pics from your camera to your computer then just right click on the pics you want to post and click resize image. You have the option to make it 640x480 and that should make it small enough to post on this site. That is the easiest way besides setting your camera to take the pics smaller.

or you could go to a web hosting service that is free, such as photobucket.com . Then you upload your photos and they resized them. Then highlight the "IMG" link and paste it in your post like this:

There's always MSPaint if you're in dire need of a quick resize. Just open the file and find the Stretch/Skew menu option, and go with a 50% size reduction. If I'm guessing correctly, your photo dimensions are 2048x1536? Half that in each direction puts the photos at standard desktop size (1024x768) which is I think what TRT allows.

But yeah, photobucket is easy. Probably more useful in the long run, too.
