the first one is my photo. The second one I have permission to use (for my website) but your right probably not a good idea for the group....
No biggie, I just think the simpler the background (not a bunch of different colors) would be beneficial. Make it a neat background not a photo with text in front of it.
I think the anthelia or #5 would be best. MHO

Hm... for me.. its a toss up between #5 and #6. Perhaps use photo editor and blend them together into one photo!!!!!!

i can send you the templates if you want to play with them... that was a good 3 hours of work to do that sample... trying to adjust the brightness and saturation so that the background colors didn't impose too much on the text, etc.
whatever photo we choose, it is getting submitted monday, so if someone has the interest in trying to come up with something that the group likes better you have 2 days to do so.

here it is with xenia background (personally, i think it is not distinguishable to the layman as to what it is, something i was trying to go for with the images i selected, but everyone can decide)

Krux, I like both of those better than the first one you did. I think photo number 1 has too much detail and interest to act as a back ground... JMO
