Alrighty here too. Hope to buy my plane ticket this weekend. But that will just about blow my entertainment budget. I may need the nomad type lodgings that cost nothing but the Southern Charm that I've cultivated over the years.
that's my 2¢ worth

I'm planning on flying in on Friday and leaving on Monday. Long weekend, but short vacation. It'll be great to meet everyone!

Bumping this back up
Brooke and I are flying in on Weds morning, spending some time around , maybe go to the coast or go to the mountains. Any ideas, cool interesting places to go.
Thanks
Jon
P.S. we are more interested in outdoor stuff then city stuff.

To bad you guys are going to just miss the Bite of Seattle! Great place to taste some great food. For those of you in Seattle who have never gone to this event, Check it out if you have some free time.
Taste of Edmonds happens here soon as well, not sure when thats exactly going on this year but either first week of August or last of July.
I still dont think you can beat all the things that go on here in Washington during the summer. Can't wait to meet you all!
Brooke n Jon. Ocean Shores is about a 3 hour drive from Seattle. NOt sure if you want to venture that far from there but its a great view of the Coast. For local Puget Sound waters, the San JUan Islands are great nice soothing Ferry rides and the Islands have lots of great shops, esp for WHale watching and the like.
For a more country atomosphere Snoqualmie (oh boy i spelled that wrong) Falls is just beautifull. a nice hike with good scenery. Of course all this depends on transportation, so if your renting a car theres so much to do in so little time!!

We are planning on renting a car at least for part of the trip. We are now leaning towards going to Mt. Rainier for Weds and Thursday night then crashing Mike's on Friday. Both Brooke and I love mountains and want to see/ do some hiking and beautiful views. I agree that there is a lot to do and little time.

Would anyone mind if a couple of new reefers joined in at the picnic?
Our tank is only 2 months old. Its a 72g bowfront with 100lbs LR, 6inch DSB, and just installing a dual 250W mh with 2 actinic NO. Our only inhabitants are 2 scooter blenies, 2 camelback shrimp, lots of hermits and lots of snails.
We would realy like to rub elbows with some long time reefers and get some advise as well.

Welcome!
Please do join us! If you want to talk tanks, the picnic's the place to be. I imagine we'll find a few other things to talk about too...and we'll be playing in the lake, eating and having an all-around good time.

I've sent out "evites" to those folks that posted that they were interested in attending and to all the PNWMAS members. If anyone else wants to come, please email me or send a private message and I will get an invitation out to you with all the details.

e-tailors
At the meeting yesterday we were asked to ask the LFS's for door prizes, well, there's one store down here I'll try (hell, maybe both but I'm not holding my breath with one of them), I've also asked my regular contact at FFE (Ron, he's from Bend and we talk local stuff all the time) if they might be willing to donate something.IMHO, if anyone else has an e-tailor they deal with on a regular basis check with them, what can it hurt?
just my $0.10 adjusted for inflation.

Brooke and I decided that we are going to spend Wed. and Wed night in Seattle at an inn near Oliver and 15th. We are looking for some recomendations for food. Also if anyone is bored that day and would like to show us around Seattle, let us know. We will have a car.
Thanks
Jon

there was mention of a nearby motel, could someone please get me a name and phone number? I'm not sure I'm up to driving all the way up there and back in one day.
Thanks!

OK I found a good motel close by. Its called "the King Oscar" it is in Auburn, 5 minutes from my house. It looks like a very clean motel and it houses many of the folks that visit the big casino another 5 minutes away. Here is the phone number (253) 288-1916
