One thing that I would really like to discuss is the movement of corals from collection sites, to the importers, and then to the lfs. I have always been curious exactly how specific shop owners can be in asking for what they want. Do any wholesalers offer pics of their livestock to choose from? What are some problems that owners have run into in the past with importers/wholesalers/transhippers?

Additionally, as the shop is new, I would be interested in hearing about any hurdles that came up, both planned and unplanned, and how you went about overcoming them. I know a lot of people would love to some day become a person employed in their hobby, and I think that hearing about the good and the bad of reopening a business would be of interest to a lot of folks.

Thumbs up

hmm...

- color correction for underwater images with Photoshop?

That might be informative. Shaun just got a copy of Photoshop and I'm sure he's lookin for some advice from some of the experienced users, and I know many people are interested in how to work with digital images effectively. It's a much more delicate skill than people realize.

People also should not think of PS as a negative thing in and of itself. It's a valuable tool for any digital image professional, but it's how its used that makes all the difference. Don't blame the software, blame the skills of the user.

Yeah thats not to bad of an idea...Photoshop is sooo hard to use. Im so confused with all the buttons and stuff. Macromedia Firewroks/Flash/Dreamweaver are much more my style. Im sure photoshop is a great program too, but i need to get some tutorials or something before i use it anymore. good idea...

I would be glad to discuss this^^.

I also like the idea of discussing DSB vs BB and varations of both impacting captive systems.

I could go over some basic photoshop elements too, but it would be very crowded in my office and hard to see the computer screen.

Thanks for the ideas. Any more??

coral topic?
water quality/chemistry topic?
featured equipment?

I think no more than (4) topics assuming time permits.

Can we get a consensis before Friday to give me time to prepare?

Thanks
