Hi everyone. Just thought I'd mention that over the last five months or so the Marine Aquarium Society of Vancouver/Victoria has formed. We have a fairly stong base of members. At our largest meeting we had a turnout of around 16. What with the strength of your club and the club in the Seattle area there is a fairly large organized group in smallish area. We may be able to do something really interesting once a year or so if we were to combine our resources.

Thoughts?

Hey troy Having lived in Vanc , canada for many years its nice to see this hobby has taken off so well up thier. I know thier are 2 clubs in Seattle one being very small and unorginised. The other is the PSAS they have about 25 -30 member and seem to be able to consistantly get about 20 people per meeting. I am just a member (and not a very good one) so I will give you a link. As per the PNWMAS the people are very friendly and I plan on attending a meeting on sunday

Hi Troy!

I think that's a fabulous idea and one I've been hoping for all along. Is the Seattle area club the one that "Mushroom Boy" posts notices for on all the boards?

Mojo, some of our members get the newsletter and there are a few of us considering making the trip down on the 12th for the meeting.

Alice, I knew you'd be interested. It's something that has crossed my mind since meeting all of you last year. It would be cool to have a speaker or two. So far our meetings haven't discussed anything formal. We've basically just met and exchanged coral frags but most people have shown interest in getting more serious. The annual summer meeting would be awesome if we incorporated three states and a province.

Great idea Troy!!

We were thinking about doing a Picnic / Trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium this year in Newport OR. Maybe we could make that into a combined club event.

Or we could do a picnic like last year and see if we could get a speaker to attend. Eric Borneman would be a cool speaker to get for a combined club event. Either way it sounds like alot of fun!!
