If you're interested in using the little cheapie imported Asian t5s, which I've used successfully on propagation tanks, they should be available in 24" lengths. Check with Travis at Upscale. They don't last forever but, IMHO, are no worse than PC, which I refuse to buy anymore after having so many break. A sealer such as tape or silicon around the areas where moisture can get to the endcaps would probably extend the t5's lives.

if you want it to look slick, you could always do a nice 70 watt halide

something like this

http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merch...oralife-halide

but instead of 150 do it in 70 watts, you can do the diy setup of this for around 150 bucks, and then you wouldn't be limited to zoos, you could throw most anything in there safely.

fwiw i have a 150 watt pendant for my 7 gallon zoo tank, it makes them look really nice and bright
