locline help.
Does anyone know if someone close by portland area sells locline stuff cheap... i wanted to get a couple pieces for my closed loop racks i am building similar to steve weast's design, so i can compare the 3/4" and the 1/2" before i buy from savko (because i need to buy enough to make 18 jets), and was thinking if i could get it for around the same prices as ordering through them i might just pick it up here... that way i can get all the pieces i need in one shot and i dont over order or under order and end up hassling with shipping stuff back or ordering more again... want to get it right the first time...Also was debating between the flat flares on the end or the round nozzles...

hmm, woody has it, but you really can't beat savko for prices. i don;t have half inch, but you are welcome to borrow a strand off of my cl for a while to get it figured out. i have a flare somewhere also that you can try, but i don't do the nozzle thing so i cant help you there. nozzles will give you more distance, but a narrower throw, something that i wasnt looking for. i get a really nice stream just out of the regular 3/4" pieces themselves.
rick also has it, but his prices are higher than woody.
so, um, me to borrow, or seahorse to buy is yor best bet.
fyi- mike and i found that it takes at least 6 pieces to do a "u" so keep that in mind as you are figuring out how much you need. if you order too much, there are always folks who will buy it off of you, heck i can take another 10 or 12 sections myself if they are extra.

They do not sell to the public, that building is just a mfg facility and nothing else. One has to be a distributor for their products in order to get anything there. I'm looking into it myself if I can make it worthwhile

yep, i figured that, but i was more thinking along the lines of seeing if they would donate anything to the club out of their "uglies" pile for us to give away as prizes
when you are talking to them, let me know if you get the feeling they are friendly and worth approaching.

hey, if they are friendly tell them i will sell my soul for free or cheap locline stuff.. my tank will be a locline display model for future purchasers... I went pricing all my locline for my closed loop and realized its going to be a couple hundred in just locline pieces..and that was through savko...

Oh they are quite friendly, but they do have rules that they seem to go by - fair enough though and very understandable.
I may go ahead and start working with them, not sure yet.
