jumping on the reaquascaping bandwagon
Over the past few months, I have been drastically changing my aquascaping. It was just getting too crowded looking for my taste and something had to be done. The latest incarnation features far fewer corals....but three canyons instead of one....and quite a bit more open space. The first pic is shot from above to detail the canyons....the second is more of a front view.

Very nice. How much time do you figure you spent cumulative, a couple hours ? LOL. Can't wait to see it in person. I really like how you keep an open architecture.

Wow! I would not even thought that was the same tank. That was a pretty major over hall!. Looks nice! I did like your old way also can you post a comparison pic with your old aquascaping? It would be cool to see the difference.

Here's a pic that's about 15 months old....it has a similar perspective as the first pic above. Just imagine this pic with another 15 months of growth....it was just getting to be too much and was starting to detract from the overall display.

THe new layout provides quite a bit of space for the corals to grow....unlike the old system which became very dense. Most of the added space was acheived by removing rock (which is now baking in the backyard). I kept all my major colonies plus some others that have potential....and of course, there's room for a few additions.... afterall, we can't have Travis holding up a cardboard sign on the freeway.

Have you no compasion for other reefer's feelings!?!?!?!
Looking great as always. Look like I'm looking into a lagoon. Not sure if that Efflo makes a good center piece. What about a nice blue table. But do like the open look.

Yea....that efflo has been on borrowed time for a long time. The only good thing about it is that you can easily see over/past it....it doesn't block the view/depth at all....but, it still will give up its spot when something better comes along.

By far the most impressive system in the NW that I have seen, I bought Ultimate Marine Aquariums and was not suprised to see your tank (circa 2001) sitting on page 108. I'm looking fwd to seeing it at the BBQ.
