If nobody else will, I'll start it. The infamous Frag Trade Thread

Ok:
I am looking for: pulsing Xenia, will trade what little I have to offer, or cash

I have: 2 frags from the unidentified staghorn coral that came in as a hitchhiker on my FL live rock. unmounted and a pinkish color.

Frag Trade

We have some Xenia that has gone wild! My two frags have turned into 7 in the past 5-6 weeks. They are bright pink with some teal tint to them under 10k mh.

We are going to Portland tommorrow, so could bring some with us to trade. Also, have Colt frags, some frags that look like Sinulara, but supposedly are not actually the real thing. Some velvet green mushrooms, a Christmas tree coral, two pink leathers, and two/3 large toadstools. One is about 8"x8"tall. The other is about 8"x12" tall, and has split into two, almost separated completly.

Would really like to sell or trade an awesome Blue Lobster. He is really cool, but we have too much live rock for him. He is reef safe, they do not have claws. He has eaten a few of my black mexican snails though nothing else. He is a scavenger and loves shrimp pellets. I can email pics if anyone is interested in him.

Thanks, Chris and Pam

jeez!... where to begin....

OK.
I've got plenty of Red Sea pulsing Xenia.

- Star Polyps(Pachyclavularia sp.) in 5 varieties - no browns
- Sinularia sp. - pale yellow - stubby morph
- Turbinaria sp. - yellow - 1 frag, 2-3" good curly shape
- Hydnophora sp. frags - bluegreen(my fav)
- Montipora Digit. sp. Red and purple.
- Various Acro sp.:
-The neon yellow of our dreams...just ask someone. prices are going up on this one folks. sorry
- bright green bushy
- pink tricolor bushy
- peach/white w/ blue tips open bush
- slate grey open bush
- adobe brown that should color up nicely. It was a great deep pink when i got it. Doesn't like my PCs though.
- more varieties, but my fingers are getting lazy now. you see why I'm in debt....

Which reminds me, I should make the point that all my colonies are under a lot of light but it's all PC LIGHT. So halides will likely improve color. That's hard to believe though on some of this stuf! Thinking i need some halides after all....

BTW
I found some PALE pink montidigi that I've never seen before that I'm growing out, (crap! just turned on the lights and saw it touching a piece of hydno...grrrrrrr) pics to come.

OK. I'm home working on the website and hopefully I'll have a lot of content up by this eventing. Keep y'all posted. Thanks for putting up with my shameless pluggin!

Good morning frlejo,

I dont think you would be very happy with him in a 10g. He doesnt have claws, but his feelers are about 16-18 inches long. His body and fan tail is about 5-6 inches long.

He is under mh and VHO now, but I dont think the light matters to him much. He just cruises around the bottom in the daytime scratching through the sand. After the lights go out he prowls the LR.

I will try to post a picture today.

Thanks, Chris

One is the parent Colt. The other is of mushrooms. They are really much greener than they appear here.

Thumbs up

Hey Piero

As long as you keep posting those kind of pics, and give us hopes of having the same look in our 2 135's, you can plug all you want as far as our two votes go!

Thanks!

Zenia

Hey biomekanic. I live in Eugene, and have some nice Xenia that is going nuts(gone from 1 stalk to about 7 in a few months). Do you have any pics of the staghorn frags? let me know if you're interested. It would be nice to know a fellow reefkeeper locally.
You can E-mail me at KDYREM@msn.com

Thanks y'all!

I've had great luck with my camera.

BTW obviously some of my corals adapt to the PCs better than others. Some retain their color nicely, others are getting darker and losing color. What I do is, take pics of a colony as soon as I get it, so the pics represent the way the colony looked originally. If it darkens up, or i put it through the "chop shop" then I still have pics of what it CAN be in terms of color and morphology.

Spring cleaning time so out with the softies in with the SPS. Most of what I have is attached to LR - some are on large pieces... some on rubble. I would like to trade for LR, sps frags or cash.

Lg. rock with big holes with 1 whitish colt frag and 1 brown colt frag
baseball size rock with xenia
softball size rick with green polyps covering half the rock
softball size rock with 5 yellow polyps (but spreading fast)
1 leather frag
softball size rock with neon tree frag
2 finger leather frags
flat 3 inch rock covered with yellow polyps
foot long flat rock with 5 large frilly mushrooms and 20+ stalks of anthelia
small rock with 10+ stalks of clavularia
small rock with 5+ red mushrooms
big toadstool leather on lg rock (maybe rocks - I will not know how many rocks it's on until I take down some other rocks. )
med. leather frag on small rock
green open brain
mated pair of 4-striped damsels
green chromis
arrow crab
branching hammer
med. size rock with xenia
