Question

Group buy for an Eliminator E 107?

Please Note: Updated info. has been posted at the end of this thread

Thanks!!!

I am checking out whether or not any PNWMAS people would be interested in ordering the Eliminator E 107(s), in a mass group buy to save on shipping.

It is a:
E-107 On/Off Switch panel

Features:

A/C power center designed to eliminate extension cords and messy wires
8 lighted switches on front panel
15A resetable circuit breaker on front panel
Eight 120V 3-prong plug sockets on rear of the unit
Ideal for switching lights and sound equipment
6 ft. power cord
Maximum load: 15 amps or 1800 watts
Dimensions: 19" x 2" x 5" - single space rm
Weight: 4 lbs.

Link: http://www.idjnow.com/StoreModules/P....aspx/PID=E107

Krux's seal of appoval can be found in Fattoni's thread (new tank..pics) #8
http://thereeftank.com/forums/showth...t=50452&page=1

Each Eliminator E 107 would be $15.00, and we could save the shipping cost if the order were to reach $200.00.

That would require approximately 14 units to be purchased, to receive free shipping on the order.

If there is enough interest, I would receive the $15.00 through PayPal. and then I would order all of the units at one time. Then each unit could be picked up at the May meeting.

I am planning on ordering 2 of these, so only 12 more are needed to make the group buy a reality.

Let me kow if there is any interest in these?

Thanks Neil

I don't know that one would switch things on and off extremely often, but it is nice/convienent/easy when the need arises to do so, like general maintenance on aquarium items (ie. power heads and etc).

Some people even turn off their main aquarium return pump prior to feeding their aquarium critters, with the hope of keeping the food in the aquarium with out it going down the overflow.

Actually the Eliminator just makes things a little more streamlined; and the ease of simply turning on or off each indavidual item by means of a switch, rather than having to unplug it.

The switches, you are correct.

Hope this helps,

I guess, though that you wouldn't want to put your lights on one of these cuz you couldn't put the timers on there. I just bought a 12 outlet, each with 3 prongs, strip at Fryes for $24 and installed it behind the tank on the wall at a height that I could get to easily and I now have all of my stuff, including timers for the lights on this one strip. It does have a switch to turn everything off at once so I guess for short periods, you could do this, its just that everything would be off at the smae time, but if it is just for feeding or whatnot, I don't think it would make much difference.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, Neil, sorry, just sharing what I do.

I have my lights on mine, just use a short extension.

I find it VERY useful for water changes and messing with equipment, so I can turn off just my skimmer and return, or just closed loop, etc, plus its a little more organized so I know whats on which switch rather than trying to 'follow the cord' and figure out whats what.

I would highly recommend these for pumps, skimmers, heaters, dosers, auto topoffs, etc
