I use one, and JR has my other one running his skimmer.
They work nicely, but add about 3 degrees of heat to the water.
also, i would not run them externally, they are not very sturdy outside the sump and will most likely spring a leak.
for the price, the quality is there though if you can handle the increased temp

The 2400 is a great pump, runs cool, quiet, and we have a pair that have tolerated a wave timer for a year and a half! 650 gph, not bad. R2

My buddy runs one and it's one of the quietest pumps I've ever heard. Does a good job too.

I just got a 2400 model this weekend and it works great, it was kind of noisy at first but it has quieted down lot now. I got mine at Soutas I called around and they actaully had a good price for it $39.00, not to bad.

i have the 6000 submersible and was using it on a calcium reactor. a tremendous amount of water flow. and as far as heat, yeah somewhere between 3 and 5 degrees it added, im sure of it. and as far as the noise....i dont remember there being much if anything....

i have used the genx 1000s for water flow in my tank for a while now... quiet, nice water flow and have worked well for 8 months or so... only problem i have had is the suction cups have started to dissolve...(they leave a black marks on the glass like they are coming apart) and so i have had to replace them... I have also used the GenX 6000 for a while to run a skimmer and it definitely had a heat issue... about 3-5 degrees...but it pumps some water.... R1 i am thru using that pump if you want it back soon i can drop it off... hope that helps.

sure, if you are headed to the meeting you can just bring it then. I have no further use for it so it is just going to go in my diy drawer until someone needs it or i find a use for it.

it should, you would need to have a 1" drain at least, preferably a 1.25 or 1.5" drain as it does push about 1200 gph.
ill pm you and we can talk about pricing and what not.
