Eugene area

Sanblas and I are going on our usual scrounge/buy for our school tanks escapade. We plan on "visiting" the Eugene/Springfield area. Anyone have suggestions of where to go? I heard there are a couple of good shops. Need the names. If any of you private readers see this and want to clean out your tanks or you have some smokin' deals. (I don't mean the 'herb') Let us know. We are going on Thursday.
Mr. S

ps. Sorry I did not make it to the BBQ! Heard it was awesome. I had to spend the time educating fish up in Canada with my fly rod, eh!

Best store IMO is Cichlids & Salt in springfield. Sean is a member here. Great prices, and good looking stuff. www.cichlidsandsalt.com is his site.

Aqua Serene has an awesome setup, but they keep their corals that aren't for show in lowlight tanks so they never look very good. Lots of fish and dry goods, prices are pretty steep though. They are on W 11th.

Pet Time is another pretty good shop. Has more fish than reef items though. Corals never really look to good to pass up. Price is decent, not as good as Sean's. On W 11th a few blocks from aqua serene.

HTH

that one guy who recently was Tank of the month on RC lives in Eugene. Look back at the history and send him a PM, he was open with me regarding stopping by and checking it out, although I never made it.

Yah his name at RC is Eugene Reefer. Awesome tank, and probably has some SPS that you could pick up from him. I think his real name is George.

I was just in Eugene a week ago, and I swung by Aqua Serene. Impur is right, they had a pretty bare selection, but I didn't check to see when they get shipments in. Tons o dry goods, but yeah, pretty steep. If you're looking to do a koi pond they have it all though... meh.

Aqua Serene is in the process of moving their store around the corner of that building. I guess its much bigger. They did have like an 800 gal reef display that was awesome. I was told its setup in the new store. Most of their SW tanks are being moved first, so they are down to about half the tanks they normally have.
