chiller help

Anyone know where I can have a chiller serviced/repaired? My chiller is not working up to par and I need someone to take a look at it and find out what the problem is.

Any thoughts?

Did you ever find out what Type Of refrigerant it took??? As for a simple easy suggestion grab a local Phone book and give a few of the HVAC repair people a call... Its just the same as a typical Air Conditioner Unit.. Also a Refrigerator Repair person should be able to help ya out as well..

from what ive read,,, unless you see visiable leaks of "oil" its not the refegerant. I plan to blow out the coils this weekend, and flush the system with vingar to remove any calcium deposits or any other encrusting organism.

I may have posted this to prematurely before doing my homework. Once I do these few things, ill see how it does and at that point I may need more help

Any other thoughts?

FYI, I read you should clean your chiller coils and flush with vinegar once a year!!!

Well I will let you know a bit about what I have found out about chillers... After having one arrive empty of refrigerant and taking it into the Mfg there was no signs of a Leak or spill.. It was filled tested and I was sent on my way... About 2 weeks later it started to slowly stop working again... So I took it back and was told that it must have had a slow leak and was replaced with a known good one... A Friend of mine as well had the Same issue... There was no visable signs of a leak both past or Present but there truely was one... It was Replaced also with a known good one as well... AS for flushing out the chiller I havent heard anyhting like that but it makes sense... I was just told by the Mfg of mine to take it apart every few months and blow all the dust and stuff that has collected inside..

yeah I hear you there.. But before ANY qualified HVAC repair person Fills a unit they Are Required by the EPA to Pressure test the Unit to make sure there is no leaks... Just make sure they do that... Leaks are generally pretty easy for them to repair from my understanding... I have not had any experience except with Cars and was told that they have to pressure test before filling do the to EPA regulations... My car had a leak.. They wouldnt fill it LOL.. they offerred to fix it and fill but it wasnt worth it to me at the time LOL.. Old Car LOL

OK SO!!!!

Ive taken the chiller offline,, and have found something rather interesting.......
there was not dust (not that would really effect it.)

BUT, when I filled the chamber with vinegar, it bubbled like MAD!!! not just, "im still filling with vinegar" bubbles, Im talking chemical reaction producing huge amounts of bubbles situation.

I HOPE this means I am so caked with calicum or whatever that it is my problem. Ill keep you posted once I put it back online later today/tonight, but I think this has GOT to at least reduce its effectiveness.

FYI to all who have not "serviced" there unit for some time, try a dose of vinegar to reduce any buildup!
