Are these fire worms? Good or Bad?

Now that things have settled down a bit after my hole disaster with the heater fire I have a few questions....

I saw these wired worm things last night. I believe they are fire worms?

I have 6lb LR and I am still in the begining stage of my cycle process. (sorry folks can't afford mutch more right now!)

I had a bit of dye off with my LR but appears to be doing well. Lots a critters and stuff running around.

I noticed last night these wierd red/brown wormy things I havn't seen before. Are these fire worms ?? if so are they hurting anything and should I try to remove them or don't worry about it.

What does everyone think here?

If they are in fact Bristle worms then they are ok in the tank... Anyone that says they do not have them is full of BS IMO.. They are scavengers for dead stuff and should not bother anything living.. Most worms in your tank should be ok with the exception of flatworms..

Ohh..good! I'm new enough to this that I wasn't sure about it. First time I've ever used live rock before.

I presumed it was probabily ok but thought I would check! I read some bad things about these little critters. They are very bristly looking red and brown and don't appear to be causing any harm.

Thanks!

yea sounds like fire worms to me, and they are good, they eat all the left over food that your fish miss and sift your sand bed a little. i leave them in my tank unless i see one that is over 2 ft long. ive heard that when they get that big they can cause trouble, but not sure if its true or not. but who wants to stick there arm in there with a 2ft worm that can sting you lol. not me thats for sure. right now we have a few that are around 2ft but i cant get them out, and they seem to not harm anything in there. so you should be fine.

Also good to know! I've added another 7lb rock this weekend from seahorse and all seems well. These were little guys only about 4-6 inches. I havn't seen them since I posted either!

Your right! I'm sure they didn't get the name fire worm for nothing!
