Anyone looking for a Purple Fungia
I've decided to find this a new home. It's ~6" in diameter, maybe bigger. Need more room on my sandbed. Open to trades or cash.

how the hell do you frag them? wouldnt that kind of ruin the beauty of it to take a hunk out of a round coral?

Take a Dremel and cut in half... Then Cut in fourths if you like... In any case it will take a while for it to regain shape but should be just fine... Atleast thats what Calfo says.. LOL I was very tempted and the Idea still crosses my mind since no one wanted to but mine from me LOL..

yep...
I tend to just bite into it and gnaw off a chunk.
makes my mouth numb though....so maybe a dremel or a flathead/hammer would be better...
actually, idunno, but m,aybe a dremel would actuially be more invasive than "snapping" it into pieces?

does it regrow perfectly round again in time or does it leave it an "odd" shape for long term?

LOL.. I think its a bit of the same issue that mine had/has.. You can tell it was a purple Fungia... However what happened with mine is when using 10k bulbs it took on the same look as the one above.. When I used 14k bulbs it went alot more purple.. I would guess that under 20k is would be solid purple... I havent played around with the lighting too much but I will tell ya It doesnt seem to bother the Plate at all and It still looks sweet...

Sigh...There's always a critic... Here's a picture which shows it's true color better. Note the shell with the coralline algae for color and scale reference...

Illusion,
If you want it to grow faster, feed it every 4-7 days. Mine likes sea scallops (and small strombus snails - but that's another story).
