55 gal drum and bleach ?
So I had my 55 gal drum soaking with 1 gal. of bleach for about a month. I have filled it and dumped it with fresh water about 3 times and now have it filled with saltwater but now I'm having second thoughts if the bleach is gone. How do you know the bleach is gone and the container is safe to use?

Water conditioner uses sodium thiosulphate to neutralize bleach and chlorine compounds. If you squirt a bunch of water conditioner into the barrel, you will be set. R2

Or you can areate the livin hooha out of the water for a while to evaporate anything left. skimming it would work too.

yeah I would get the water conditioner too, and then rinse it and do a water conditioner again just to be on the safe side

Yeah Leaf is probably the better of the two, but man does Dixon have an arm or what?

I like Bradys' smarts better than Dixon's arm.

Add a cup of vinegar (white or apple cider.. whatever is cheapest) to the barrel filled with water. A gallon or two of water with vinegar added actually work as a rinse. It should instantly neutralize any residual chlorine, but letting it soak won't hurt. Rinse, and your ready to go. Add a little baking soda to the rinse if you are concerned about the vinegar affecting pH.
Vinegar is way cheaper the dechlor if you are doing any major disinfecting of tanks or equipment. Even a small amount of vinegar will remove bleach from your hands too.
