I think I remember him saying something about starting a new business?

That takes an incredible amount of time. He may, simply, be extremely busy.

Yes that is right, he said he was opening a new coladge bar, but the fact that he is now banned over at RC makes me wonder if something more sinister is afoot.

Probably not.

IIRC, he “moved on” over there only a day or two before becoming a moderator here. That was quite a while ago.

Thanks.

I figured I needed a fancy new picture of Mt. Rainier to go with my new role.

If you are curious as to why someone in Ft. Lauderdale would have a picture of a mountain on the other side of the country… I went to college at UW.

Here's one for ya' weatherman. I took advanced weather and climate this past fall. It was a graduate level course and I know no more about the weather now than I did before I enrolled...worst class I have ever had...needless to say I am pissed because I really wanted to take the class as I have always been fascinated by the weather and wanted to learn the information. Unfortunately for me, even though I received a good grade, the information was never presented....anyway, moving on now...

What do you call the halo that surrounds the moon sometimes? I know it has something to do with the refraction of the light in the atmosphere and I know there is a name for it. Any help?

Graduate-level course in atmospheric science are not easy (and, unless you really love manipulating partial differential equations, are not fun). I studied harder the first six months I was in grad school than the entire 3 1/2 years I was an undergrad, combined.

I didn’t know the halo around the sun or the moon had a name.

But, I'm sure it does, and if you do a google search on “halo around moon”, you’ll, probably, find it.

It wasn't difficult, it was boring and monotonous. We spent the entire semester plugging data into excel spreadsheets and synoptic typing...I think we were doing the research for one of his projects instead of learning about weather and climate...oh well, maybe the next go round
