What color for bottom of tank?

I'm doing an in wall tnak in the basement and it will be bare bottom. I decided not ot go with the starboard b/c i don't want to risk getting detritus built up underneath. Since it will be bare glass you can see the top of the stand, what color should i paint it?

The back of the tank is painted black, so i though maybe a purple for the bottom? Do you think that would look ok or should i do a white?

I had a tank that had a piece of cardboard on the bottom that looked like sand. It was cool for a few months until the coraline covered it up and you couldn'tr see it anymore. White will make your tank much brighter until it gets covered.

White is good for reflective properties. Personally I think its a mute point as the bottom will eventually be purple from coraline so whatever you choose, it will be purple in a while.

Mine stand has a solid wood piece that it sits on - only took a few months before you couldn't see it anymore -

I guess we are all saying paint it whatever you like because in a few months you won't see it.

But do remember to seal it for all those saltwater drips

The only way you would see the stand is looking down from above the tank. Looking from the outside, as people usually look at their tanks, the bottom glass will look like a mirror while it's clean. As in my avatar.

You can't see through the sides or the bottom of a tank when viewing it from the front, unless something is actually touching the glass. Otherwise, it has a mirror effect.
