Wet enough skimming?

I'm in the process of starting up my very first reef tank (yay!) after about a year of keeping fresh water tanks. I decided to go bare-bottom as I like the idea of having control of the tank and having a sand bed just seems like a lot of potential problems.

I've been reading how I should skim "wet" but I haven't been able to find a decent definition of that that is. This is a picture of my skimmer, does it look alright or should I turn it up more?

I would say watch for algae buildup in your tank and on your glass to know if you are skimming wet enough.

Wiskey, about cleaning the glass, what is the normal time for doing that? I have to clean it every 2 days I also have algae growth on my starboard...

Maybe because my tank is only 2 months old?
