The BB Friendliness in the air...

I just wanted to post this on here but I cannot believe how friendly it is for BB'ers here on TRT. On RC or ANY other board I posted on as soon as you posted something about BB you had 4 other post saying how dumb it is, how its a fad or a trend and will be gone soon, how it can't work, how Dr Ron things its dumb, how "cooking your rocks on a stove" is dumb...

Its great, thanks GregT, Sean, Bomber (where ever your at) and all the other BB'ers out there who make this such a great place.

I agree.I dont know the history around here of the subjects of BB and Cooking L/R but it seems that the concept and the beleif is welcome here.I like the attitude of anti flameing here as well.It seems that there are many sites that preach this but dont practice it.It seems the mods and or staff on other sites are very biased and are not willing to put out a fire started by a non beleiver.

You know I havent had the internet that long and like many others the only knoledge that was out there to learn from was that of some part timer at the LFS.That has gotten me in more trouble with this hobby than I could have ever excpected.I am so glad to have found the web and all its info but there are many who just take advantage and blow their nasty sarcastic opinion around without actualy having any firsthand knoledge or experiance on certain things.

On a local thread around here (FishHeads.org, which is pretty lame anyway but...) I posted in a buddie's thread where is is putting together a 180g BB SPS tank and I posted some stuff about BB and how sand will over time 'sink' the detritius and eventully raise the nutrient levels...

Long story short one of the mods of the forum took all my post, edited them so I looked like a retard and then posted a new thread under my alias on there and then began to flame me, tell me I'm wrong and others gladly chimed in stating this was a new fad that'll be gone soon and don't jump on the bandwagon.

Anyway I contacted the guy who OWNS the server and site and he seemed to think this was fine. I just can't get over that somebody would go through all that trouble just to be able to try and prove me wrong because he thinks that BB tanks can't work or maybe he just has a stick in his arse.

Anyway I'm glad I found TRT, I get the feeling that I don't have to worry about getting flamed or even banned because I have a BB tank.

Overmoderated forums suck.
Take this place for example, Greg will let you do what you want so long as you aren't rude, overtly commercial, violate slander/libel laws (or any laws in general) and follow the UA.

Basically he just wants a happy place to talk about fish tanks.
Why people get so worked up about them is beyond me.
Bear in mind, I used to get into some good flame wars back in the day on that other board (and the same Greg banned me more than once CAN YOU BELIEVE HE BANNED LITTLE OL' ME!?!?!?!).
But I didn't get into them over the tanks, I got into them because people were being butt heads.
I am much calmer now.

I don't know about him, but mine fell out of my pocket when I was a kid, and I gave up looking for it years ago.
