Haha! I recognized that molex plug immediately. I just assembled a 24 pin one for my car. It was kind of a pain, but I may have to do the same thing for the Tunzes. It would definitely make removal a lot easier. Great idea!

in this pic pay attention to the gap on the top of the tank( not the handsome guy with the cute little girl ! l.o.l.) as you can see there isn't one ! thats how tight it was . theres about an inch and a half gap , basicaly enough to pass the wiring for the lights and let air flow go thru .

and while were on the subject of modded tunze stuff ! this is what i did about my wavebox . instead of purchasing a slave box for another five hundred , i decided to just build a new twin box . i used the main pump and controller out of the original box but used a upgraded 6000 for the slave pump . dimensionally i went a one inch larger than the original box design . the sides and the bottom are glued unlike the orignal box that has the removable bottom (which i hated - i've had it come of more than a few times ) with my box the pumps just twist and lock in place - very simple !
the previous owner of the tank commented that that i was getting the same size wave that he was getting with three waveboxs in the tank about an inch and a half !
total cost to build - less than 20 bucks in material .

looking down . also remember i glued in the mounting strips prior to putting in water as tunze doesn't make magnetic holders strong enough for one inch material. also notice that each side is seperate

the completed unit .

the unit in the tank .

My daughter dared me to wear a wig to the picnic. This is the one I wore:

My hair is actually 1/8" long. Poor Mel thought I just had a bad mullet when I knocked on her door.

sorry folks , i have still been tied up doing things , but thought i needed a break tonight !
instead of boring you all with tank build stuff , i thought i would change it up with the fish list and some pics!

(5) blue reef chromis -Chromis cyanea
vlamingii tang - 12"
black durgon - Melichthys niger 8"
doctor fish - Acanthurus chirurgus
(3) blue tangs - Acanthurus coeruleus
atlantic longsnout butterfly - Chaetodon aculeatus
flameback angel - Centropyge aurantonotus
blackcap basslet - Gramma melacara
royal gramma - Gramma loreto (about 5 years old now )
red spotted hawkfish - Amblycirrhitus pinos
sharpnose puffer - Canthigaster rostrata
yellowheaded wrasse - Halichoeres garnoti
reef squirrelfish- Sargocentron coruscum
tobacco bass - Serranus tabacarius
chalk bass - Serranus tortugarum
seaweed blenny - Parablennius marmoreus
(2) chainlink eels - Echidna catenata
blue/barred hamlet - Hypoplectrus gemma/puella

so thats what presently resides in the tank . one fish you don't see on the list that i had for quite sometime is the princess parrot .
i didn't have a problem with it eating any of the corals , but it just snapped one day and started chasing the smaller fish like it wanted to kill !
also another unfortunate fish i had to boot was the rock beauty angel . the first one , which was perfect in all respects had unfortunatly got killed in a rock slide when i had the 180 out in the garage . this second one was not so nice !
so let me go and get some pics !
